Posted 25 March 2009 - 07:21 PM

Several days ago I started getting various screen popups whenever started up IE7. For example, if I Googled for "antivirus software", I would begin to see IE7 popups for various antivirus software products. I would eventaully receive a very intrusive IE7 popup window for SpywareRemover 2009. Eventually a SpywareRemover 2009 modal dialog box would appear which would not let me exit IE7 and would try and install the sftware. The only way to exit out of this mess would be to do a Cntrl-Alt-Del and kill the IE7 process. My computer response time would then slow down.

I then ran Norton AntiVirus 2009 and the following were detected and removed (according to Norton):

- Trojan.Vundo
- Trackware.MegaSearch
- Adware.NDotNet
- Trojan.Fakeavalert (This showed up when SpywareRemover 2009 appeared)

I rebooted my system, opened up IE7 again and the popups started all over again. My system is also running very slow.

Below is my DDS.txt log file. I have also attached my Attach.txt file.

Thanks for your help.

George

Hi gkdk,

Sorry for the delay. We have over 500 logs back up.

If you still need help, please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Copy and Paste the entire Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware report in your next reply along with a fresh DDS log.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

If you encounter this message:"c:\program files\malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll Unable to register the dll/ocx: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x5" Click on ignore mbamext.dll
