Hi, i'm having trouble with my Yahoo Messenger. I cant seem to sign in to any account. When I try to sign in, it just presents me with a pop-up saying "There was a problem signing into Yahoo! Messenger. Please try again a little bit later." Below this there are 3 buttons, "New User", "Sign-In problems?" and "Try Again".. I haven't been able to sign in for 2 days now.

I'm pretty sure I didn't change any settings in my computer. I do change some settings sometimes, but I know how to put them back, like internet proxies, because I also bring my laptop to school and there's a proxy setting needed there. I've already checked YM's settings, and IE's settings, and Google Chrome's settings, and they're all set at default. So I don't think that's a problem.

The version I was using was YM8, and i tried installing YM9, but it made no difference. I can sign into Yahoo!'s webmessenger though, so I also know it's not a problem with my accounts. I really don't know what else to do. Please help me. Thank you!

Oh and btw, my laptop is a HP Pavilion tx2000. It runs on Windows Vista 64-bit.

EDIT: i also tried turning my laptop off and back on, and then tried cleaning registry using registry clean expert.. still no change..

Can any other programs connect to the Internet?
Don't mind me, I'm just lurking.

That's pretty unsafe to do. Registry cleaners are not recommended among the staff of BC.

Also, did you check to make sure your firewall isn't blocking YIM?

If anything, you can always try to uninstall and reinstall. Sometimes, that works the best. If you have users on your list, make sure you have some way of recovering your list (be it saving out the list or having the names down on a .txt for reference or etc.).

If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what's causing it as I don't use YIM.
