I am trying to learn malware cleanup and have a Victim PC from one of the users that I support to experiment on.

Symantic AV reports that Infostealer.Gamepass is infecting the machine. And asks me to reboot the machine to remove the threat but that doesn't fix it. I get the error "Symantec AntiVirus could not complete remediation tasks."

What are some good next steps?

Presently, I have run Superantispyware and Malwarebytes Anti-malware against it but neither detect it.

Forgot to mention last night that the machine is running XP SP3.
