I received the laptop with antivirus 360. While attempting to install an up-to-date security suite (CA), the laptop blue screened. I tried the following:
1. Come up in Safe mode
2. Boot to Command Prompt
3. Restore to last known good configuration
Nothing worked. The Stop code is C00002a.
It is a Dell Inspiron running XP, one or two years old I believe. The owner (daughters boyfriend) does not have the disks, I am going to request the re-install disk from Dell tomorrow.
Any ideas how to recover? The boyfriend would like to save the music data in the hard drive.
