Well, Wolfee, that wasn't exactly what I wanted you to do--never try to fix 010 items with HijackThis, it can screw up your connection--but you seem to have straigtened out the multiple firewalls, have AVG running and I don't see any more remnants of Symantec. So good job on that--I just didn't get to see what I wanted to see--but let's move on.

You have an ambiguous entry that I and another mod have been trying to figure out and I would like some more information on it.

O4 - Global Startup: strings.exe

Could be bad or could be a diagnostic part of one of your security programs. Do this for me.

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: How to see hidden files in Windows

Now do a File search for this file:


Post back here the location of all instances of the file. Here are two examples of what the location might look like:

C:\Program Files\a2\strings.exe
