... that I am updated with the WinXp service pack 2? When I came back from vacation and booted up my compy my firewall wanted access to Windows Update so I allowed. What I don't understand is how could I have downloaded the sp2 when I was away. My compy was unplugged the whole time and there wasn't time for it to DL when I booted up. I'm really confused about this...

the reason I am confused, besides what I all ready said, is because I was thinking, OK if I have the sp2 I'd better check out this new firewall and what else is new. At the windows update site it is showing that I should install the sp2, but it looks like I all ready have it. Also the update site itself has changed...

My windows update history says the last update I had was Friday July 30th for SP1, a critical patch for IE6... KB867801. So apparently I do not have the SP2... but doesn't the info look like I do? What gives here? Someone please enlighten me?

That is for IE6 not XP. Looks like what you have is IE updated to work with SP2.

 Thanks Bluie and I have since found out what you say is true... now there is a different thing going on. I posted this at Chief's site. Maybe someone here will have a suggestion.
