MY COMPUTER:
Compaq Presario - Windows XP - AMD Athlon 64 Processor - 984 MHz, 960 MB of RAM

MY PROBLEM IS THE FOLLOWING ERROR:
svchost.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x75606e6a" referenced memory at :0x00000008". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

ONCE I CLICK OK OR CANCEL IT SHOWS THE SAME MESSAGE BUT DIFFERENT NUMBERS
"0x7c9111de" at "0x00000000" (AND ONLY GIVES OPTION FOR OK)
I CLICK ONCE MORE AND I GET
"0x7564d27e" at "0x000000060" (AND ONLY GIVES OPTION FOR OK)

IT GIVES ME 4 OR 5 OF THOSE MESSAGES AND THEN STOPS BUT THEN LATER ON IT'LL POP UP AGAIN. *NO I DONT KNOW HOW THIS ALL STARTED*. THEN IT STARTED INTERFERING WITH MY INTERNET AND WOULDN'T LET ME OPEN THE IE WINDOW. THEN MY COMPUTER SWITCHED THE WINDOWS CLASSIC AND STAYS LIKE THAT (ANOTHER PROBLEM). AND THEN IT JUST DELETED MY SOUND SOMEHOW. I WAS UNABLE TO CHANGE THE VOLUME UP OR DOWN.

I GOOGLED ALOT OF OPTIONS AND LOOKED AT FORUMS HERE BUT COULD NOT RESOLVE PROBLEM. I RESTORED MY COMPUTER TO FACTORY SETTINGS AND THOUGHT THAT RESOLVED IT. NO. :flowers: IT DIDNT. AFTER A FEW MINS TO AN HOUR OR SO IT CAME UP AGAIN! BUT NOW I HAVE SOUND ON MY COMPUTER. AND STUCK IN CLASSIC MODE AGAIN!

THIS TIME I AM ABLE TO GET ONLINE SOMEHOW SO I GOOGLED AGAIN AND CAME UP WITH THIS WEBSITE http://www.pchell.com/support/svchosterror.shtml WHICH I FOLLOWED STEP BY STEP AND IT DIDN'T SOLVE MY PROBLEM....... AND ON TOP OF THAT I AM UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD THINGS LIKE ITUNES8 OR AN UPDATE FOR INTERNET EXPLORER, THE PAGE SAYS IT CANNOT BE DISPLAYED BUT SOMEHOW I WAS ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THE GOOGLE TOOLBAR SO ITS ACTING REALLY STRANGE. (YET ANOTHER PROBLEM!) :trumpet:

AND HENCE I AM HERE TRYING TO GET IT RESOLVED. at this point i would love to trash this crap and get a new computer but not happenin cause we are in a recession and i need to save money. so please help the best you can or refer me to someone!

As a start...

Please try a couple of these free online scanners to see if anything has slipped by your protection:
(Be advised that some of these scanners will pickup things in "quarantine" from other anti-virus programs - so review the results carefully)

http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/activescan/
http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp
http://housecall.trendmicro.com
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

http://onlinescan.avast.com/
http://ca.com/us/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx
http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/

http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner Scan Only - no removal

If you find that you're infected (or the scan doesn't complete or closes unexpectedly), post in the Am I Infected forum located here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/

You should also try Malwarebytes AntiMalware http://www.malwarebytes.org/

the website http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314056 does not help.
i alreadyhave a free trial for norton internet security. i've left the computer on for ONE HR and let it do a full scan but i never completed the scan but so far it hasn't found anything.

i still have malwarebytes shortcut on my computer but its not opening, i guess its not downloaded on my comp, since the restore i guess it deleted it!i

i will try the panda activescan 2.0 and see what happens. i'll post back the results.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=T...mp;aq=f&oq=

The majority of the links above for that error message...indicate malware.

I've already suggested how to deal with that...if you choose not to follow that road, I don't know what else to suggest.
