Hi, I posted this message earlier. I'm sorry for seeming impatient, but I noticed a handful of messages posted after mine that have been replied to several times -- I thought perhaps mine didn't go through or there was a problem. Moreover, I just re-ran HJT because I've since run several other spy-sweeping programs yet my problem remains. Thanks in advance!!

Below is my HijackThis log after running several anti-spyware programs. My main issue seems to be the red circle / white 'x' in the icon tray that repeatedly tells me I've been infected. I think I've rid mysel fof AZESEARCH bar issues, but I did notice new items in my Favorites folder. Thanks

1) Disable Mocrosofts Anti-Spyware.
2) Go to add/remove programs and uninstall SearchSquire.
3) Open your browser, and empty the browser cache files.

4) Open notepad and paste in the following lines:

del c:\ *.tmp
del %temp%\*.tmp /f
del %windir%\prefetch\*.*
del %windir%\temp\*.* /f
del C:\documents and settings\*\local settings\temp\*.*

Save to desktop as 'clean.bat' , file types as 'all-files'.

5) DoubleClick on the icon, and say yes when prompted.

6) Re-run Adaware and Spybot
7) Reboot and post a new hjt log.

Hi. Thanks for the reply! I did all that you said and below is my new HJT log. One question -- I'm also trying to speed up my system start, and there seem to be four files in my startup log (from msconfig) that are no longer on my computer yet seem to be in the startup log -- how can I get rid of them? They are as follows: qttask, winamp, viewmgr and spysweeper. Again, these programs are no longer on the computer....
