I just reformatted my Emachines T3256 and everything has gone wrong.
I have the Restore DVD but when I put it in there is no autorun. I can see the files on the disk, the folder named Drivers does not help. There is no internet and no sound so I really need some help guys. Another odd problem that im unsure of is as I "drag" a window across the screen it moves very slow and skippy.

A picture of the overall problems is here

Have you tried downloading the drivers directly off the internet? and have you updated windows XP at all, like installing new service packs?

How exactly did you reformat the Hard drive? for most restore disks you have to boot up off of them, you cant run them via windows, and you can reformat/reinstall or repair the windows installation from there.

To reformat I used a red disk that has "OPERATING SYSTEM" "Reinstallation CD Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1a" as the title.
When I reformatted I just used this to delete the current partition, and made a new one.

I have another disk entitled "Emachines T3256 Restore DVD" but if I try to boot from that, nothing happens.

downloading the windows installer from this website http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en and see if that helps you out at all. I tried to find the drivers, but emachines website isnt very helpful about finding them but Ill keep looking when I get the chance.

Put the disk with the drivers in the CD drive
Go to Stsrt>Settings>Control Panel
Locate the System icon & double click it
When the System Properties box opens click on the Hardware tab
Open the Device Manager
If you need drivers installed there should be "unknown" devices showing with a black ! on a yellow back ground
Click on one & on the menu click Update driver
When the box offering to search online opens select Not this time
On the nex screen select to install from a specific location
Searc CD drive should be selected by default
Click Next
If the driver for the device is on the disk it should be found & installed.
Do each device that needs a driver.

If that doesn't work download PC Wizard ,

http://download.cnet.com/PC-Wizard-2008/30...4-10793737.html

Install it on the unit & run it
Get the motherboard make & model

Emachine doesn't list the drivers for your unit.
The only way you are going to download the correct drivers is from the motherboard manufacturers web site.

Doing a little searching it looks like a T3256 has a FIC AU31 motherboard.
If you determine this to be corredt you can download the drivers here,

http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/mother...downloads.shtml

Click on the file name to download it .
Skip the BIOS downloads & start at the Audio download.

I clicked on the pics.
They got bigger but still unreadable.

Open PC Wizard
What does it show for Mainboard ?

GeForce 6100 is the type of video card or chip .

OK, I could read that one !

You have a ECS GeForce6100PM-M2 motherboard.

Your drivers are here,

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/...D=1&LanID=0

Be sure to get the right ones for the version of Windows you have !
