Laptop was full of spyware... Ran Panda scan off the interet and full version of spy sweeper. Rebooted laptop, now it boots into a black screen and shows the mouse. Nothig else loads or works. Same if i start in safe mode. CD Rom drive is messed up as i tried to do a repair install... but kept getting corrupted file messages. CD was tested in another system and worked fine... No clue what it can be. Im sure there was some system files that were deleted during the scan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Can you try the CD-ROM in another computer to make sure that it is the problem, or borrow one that you know is working.

Did you check the boot order to make sure that the CD-ROM is the first device in the boot order? If it isn't you will not be able to boot from the CD.

Sarcasm isn't going to make me wish to assist you, and what is the relevancy of it being a laptop with my suggestion?

What is the make and model of this laptop?

I have never heard of a laptop that didn't have a removable CD-ROM.
