Hi i've been having problem's with security center. It's basically telling me that I have Norton symantec installed but the status is unknown. I've scanned my computer with spybot S&D and it found security center override. I removed and restarted my computer. But it's still there. I have also made a hijack this report and scanned using maleware bytes. Here are the logs.

Now i'm going to run SAS. But earlier today I tried running Kaserpy but it said Signature error and in the middle of the update it failed.

Any help would be great.

Alright so let me start over again. In this past month and a half My computer has been giving me this one update. It's update (KB967715) I update it and it tells me it has been successfully updated. But when I shut down or restart my computer and log back in the update is back. Now as of 2 weeks ago this Window's Alert message pop-up and tells me that it recognizes Symantec but the status is "unknown." I recovered from a virtumonde virus about 3-4 months ago and now I'm having problems with this. Also I want to add in maleware bytes finds this virus and it say's it's deleted, and tell me to fully remove this virus I have to reboot, but when I reboot the message pop- up again

Hello.

Could you update MBAM and run it again. Post the log this time once it's complete. A quick-scan will do.

Attach the Attach.zip for me in your next reply as well as a New DDS log

With regards,
Extremeboy

Hello.

A quick look through the DDS log doesn't appear or show any "active" infection, there is a few things we could do to remove the leftovers but in the post you submitted yesterday you talked about a few problems you had.

Could you now re-list or describe the problems you may still have now as MBAM shows nothing this time around.

Thanks.

With Regards,
Extremeboy

Hello.

Are you talking about "Symantec AntiVirus Client" not able to update? Can you give me something like a screenshot to show me what you are exactly talking about? This will give me a better understanding of what we still need to do.

Sorry about that I was on vacation but my problem seems to be resolved. I scanned my computer a couple of times. It found nothing. Now my Security Center doesn't give me those annoying pop-ups. but I have still have a update problem I update but I get the same update again after I restart my computer. ALSO forgot to add, symantec wasn't having problems updating I update it everyday and it updates successfully.

Okay.

Glad you got that resolved :thumbup2:

try running Dial-A-Fix regarding the Windows Update problem. If it doesn't work then I suggest you start another topic in the Windows XP forum

Respond back letting me know and I will close the topic soon :)

Download and Run Dial-a-Fix

This program fixes many common problems in Windows.
  • Please download Dial-A-Fix from one of the following mirrors:
  • Extract the zip file to your desktop.
  • Double click Dial-a-Fix.exe to start the program.
  • Press the green double checkmark box (Looks like this: Posted Image)
  • UNcheck "Empty Temp Folders", as well as "Adjust Time/Date" in the prep section. The prep section should then look like this:

  • When the window looks like this, press the GO button in the bottom of the window.

  • Exit/Close Dial-A-Fix
