I just reformatted the computer yesterday and got windows xp back up and everything.. I have this problem though with this one thing running, its called wmsdmod.exe . Every few seconds it makes the performance readings spike up from barley nothing to at or around 100% then instantly back down to nothing. I don't know what it is either, could anybody tell me what it is and if there is a way to stop it from spiking like that, thanks.

I just ran your file threw search engines to find out if it was real or malware for you. Sorry but that is the limit of my knowledge.

Brunt or one of the Mods will know what to do.

yea thats what its called, i've looked for it too on google and found nothing.. I have no idea what it is and it's impossible to run any games because of the cpu usage being spiked by it.

well it looks like it has somthing to do with the media player if you take the exe away. Ranging from echos to a hacked version of windows! You can right click it and end tak so it goes away untill then I will check a little deeper!

already tried to end it.. It doesn't go away.

I'd try to get rid of it with norton but norton has decided to be a pain. I installed it but when i go to run it, norton just suddenly stops without any type of error message, just stops.

i believe its version 8, and the dll didn't help, it basacially copied over the pre-existing one.
