Is there a way to watch my movies on my ssh server that is located at my house and always on through sftp from somewhere else without having to download the whole file?

My only idea was to get a program called Red Drive that lets you map a network drive in windows to my ssh server at home. Ideally, I would travel with a usb key that has red drive on it. Once out of town, access my ssh home drive while using my friend's computer via red drive and load the movie file or whatever I want to stream into windows media player and be able to watch instantly without downloading the movie or any software onto my friend's windows machine.

There are other ways, such as VLC streaming and PortableVLC.
I haven't tried movies yet, but I do have Ampache serving my music,
which I can access from any browser.
Looking at the Ampache site it seems they have added video to Alpha 3.
(Note: Alpha software is typically very buggy)
