Posted 12 March 2009 - 11:14 AM

I experienced IE browser redirects to Google and redirected to othe URLS. I downloaded Regcure, and Malewarebytes Anto-Maleware and cleaned items discovering the Dns... Trojan and quarantined it. Still experienced redirects. I downloads and ran Hijack This. I DELETED all items on the list. Cannot recall experiencing svchost application errors before and /or after selecting fix/delete option on Hijack this but this is where I am at. Applications freeze, Windows Updates gets redirects, and I can only operate in NORMAL mode for short while, maybe a couple of commands, before the constant error notifications (svchost) prevents me from contiuing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Charlie Cash

"T",

Problem started with a browser redirect Trojan. I located and quaritined it. But did not fix redirect issue. I downloaded HJThis and ran it. I deleted everthing HJThis found.... wrong!! Then I noticed that booting up I got svchost.exe errors 3-5 everytime I booted. THen applications began not to open, Sound is out but all is fine with drivers...

I have since overloaded with Maleware and Antivirus software.. I have Norton 360, MalewareBytes-AntiMalware, HJThis, Regcure, and CCleaner...

Help... I am all out of ideas..

Attached is the latest log..

This entry I remove and it returns with reboot.... O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {7FEBEFE3-6B19-4349-98D2-FFB09D4B49CA} - (no file)

Hello,

Let's start with restoring everything, and please leave the registry cleaners completely alone for now.
  • Open HijackThis
  • Click on "View the list of Backups"
  • Place a check mark next to everything in that window
  • Click Restore
  • Click Yes
  • Reboot your computer
  • Run HijackThis and post a new HijackThis log for review.
This should help, and we'll go from there. :thumbup2:

Thanks,
tea
