Hi All

Windows xp home: media centre edition
Norton security online provided by BT

Ok, I came home from work to find a desktop with just the wallpaper, no shortcuts or taskbar, discovered that I could get these by running explorer.exe in task manager.

After reading a couple threads here I have run Malwarebytes, found bad stuff, and Kapersky virus removal tool tool, on second scan all read clear.

Cannot run Registry editor, have just tried from msconfig and got application error
"the instruction at "0x7c809813" referenced memory at "0x000353e4". the memory could not be written"
In Configuration utility explorer.exe is not listed in start up?

I am currenlty running a full scan in Malwarebytes. If you need more info I'll do my best.

Scan result

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.34
Database version: 1825
Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3
