I am having a problem and hope their is someone out there that can help me. I have an older laptop (Toshiba Portege 7200 CTe). I have a 256MB that i want to install. I have know clue as to what i need to do. Can someone tell me the steps i need to take to successful install my new MB???? Thanks so much>>>>>>>> :thumbsup: :flowers:

Installing it is the easy part. Find the correct memory is going to be tough
I'm not familiar with that model. On some notebooks you have an access panel underneath and on other you have to remove the keyboard and install it that way. The main thing is to match the nothes in the memory to the slot and not to overly force it into the slot
There will probably be some sort of release lever on the side of the holder

Thanks for the advise. I do know that the memory fits in the bottom, it has a cover with the two screws. I have already ordered the memory. I am wondering what needs to be done after i install the new memory!!!!!! Will i lose any files i already have on the computer???? I am so dumb when it comes to computers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup: :flowers:

Just unplug it and remove the battery when installing. Put it all back together, when done and that's all there is to it. You don't have to do anything else
