A few days ago, I started noticing my web browser being hijacked to various sites - anti-virus mostly. Since then I installed and ran Spybot. Spybot found about 11 different trojans that it said have been removed. However, everytime I run Spybot seems like it keeps on finding virtumonde. I also get 'unable to find files' for DLLs - gajiname and hekeyapi when I boot the computer and my browser continues to launch other websites.

I have Win XP with Mcafee. Thanks in advance for your help in resolving this issue.

That was quick!
Seems to be fine now. I have not used IE much to notice any more hijacks. Is the registry clean now?

Thanks

Hi,

I don't see anything strange anymore in your logs, so you should be OK :thumbup2:

Glad I could help. :)

Please read my Prevention page with lots of info and tips how to prevent this in the future.
And if you want to improve speed/system performance after malware removal, take a look here.
Extra note: Make sure your programs are up to date - because older versions may contain Security Leaks. To find out what programs need to be updated, please run the Secunia Software Inspector Scan.

Happy Surfing again!

Hi,

The malware you were dealing with doesn't steal your passwords, but it's always safe to change passwords anyway.
