I have a pc and a laptop. im trying to connect them to play games over a lan connection. a relative who is a computer tech told me its possible to connect both computers using just an ethernet cable but it takes some knowledge and i need to know if anyone can help me with this.

Which operating system are you using? Do you have the cable already?

im rinning windows xp on both. and yes i have an ethernet cable already

i have tried that and it didnt work
