A new pc with vista 64 bit. When I try to boot it tells me to run the install repair (recommended) or boot normally. Both choices get stuck on the "loading" screen. HELP!?

Is this a plain blue screen, or a blue screen with white writing on it?
If the latter, what does the writing show (more info about error messages here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/top...tml#entry409491 )

It tells me some files are damaged or it was not shut down properly.
It gives two choices, run repair wizard or start windows. Either way it goes to the next screen with the small progress bar and sticks there

Can you boot into Safe Mode? Do this by repeatedly tapping the F8 key just before the Windows Splash Screen shows up.

If you can get into Safe Mode, try updating your video drivers to see if that helps.

If it is saying it has been shut down improperly then I would say do the repair boot, it is possible that there is a corrupted section of the hard drive, or a corrupted start up file, or corrupted system file...
