My mom has XP on her laptop. She is trying to install an HP Scanner/fax, but it is asking her to insert the XP Installation CD.

I guess when her XP was installed, it was not fully installed (the Scanning/Fax module perhaps were not installed?).

Anyone know where i could download these from?

thank you

FWIW: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/s...2october21.mspx

You know, of course, that no one has to use native Windows for faxing/scanning...most of us just use 3d-party programs for those functions. If you use Google, you will see that there are a rather large number of such, some paid, some free.

And...you don't have to use the HP software for these functions...just need the driver for the device installed.
