I am working with an adopted "network" computer. I decided to disable or manually enable some services to speed it up as it is a bit slow. Also, I changed the "wait to kill service" times to increase response times. Well, now I cannot connect to the internet. I went back and enabled all the services and increased the times, but still no internet. Computer claims to Not detect modem. I have run troubleshooting and all ports and modem check out. Can anybody help me? I'm thinking because it was a network computer, that maybe its connected in someway. Thank you very much in advance.
