Lately when I try to burn a CD using Windows Media Player, I get this: Windows Media Player encountered a problem while burning the file to the disc. For additional assistance, click Web Help.

I know it's not the kind of discs I'm using, because I've burned stuff to them before. I've tried setting a lower burn speed, I've tried burning different files, and I've even tried burning files that I burned to discs before. I've checked for updates for the media player, but there aren't any.

I don't think the problem is with the lens, because my computer is still able to read discs.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Any advice on what I can do to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

May be you forget to create multisession disk in your last write session and your disk become write protected.

I've tried using other discs of the same brand, so I don't think it could be that. I know the brand I'm using works, because I've used them before.

Never mind. I went back to using Windows Media Player 10 and I'm able to burn again. This computer is very low on memory, so I guess when I buy one of those memory card things, I'll install WMP 11 again.

Thanks for trying to help, Raj.

Maybe "Burrrn" would be a lighter application for you. It's free, and burns many different formats automatically.
