Alot of times when I use my windows media player (when playing things people send me by email or just looking at something like you tube), it come up with this message?

"A Windows Media Update is currently available. Would you like to update now?"
Yes , No.

My question is this: Is this spyware or is it actually a legit windows update?

It happens often enough that I suspect it is real, but don't want to make a mistake and update myself into a virus or malware issue.

Thanks!

I love this site, it is so helpful to have somone to ask!

No, no update numbers, just exactly what I printed above.

I'll look tonight when I get home and check the version. I have a hard time keeping up with all the version changes
between everything. It would be nice to have somewhere to check it all at once to see what needed to be updated
