My sons PC was full of viruses and spyware. In trying to clean it up, I think I deleted a program that also deleted internet explorer. Does anyone know how to reinstall it? All the system recover stuff is on a separate hard drive "D". I don't know if there is a way to just access one thing, or if I have to completely restore the whole system.

I could use some help with this!!!

Thanks!

Go onto Microsoft.com, and search Internet Explorer. I found it under the download section.. Actually, here's the link to IE8 RC.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/beta/

and here's 7.

Did you check the recycle bin and see if it is in there?

Well, i'd highly doubt an uninstalled program would be in the recycle bin, but it's always worth a shot.

Most things I DELETE go to my recycle bin, if I uninstall it that is a horse of another color.

Well, you can't technically "Delete" Internet Explorer. You can manually go in and delete the files. I reckon he was uninstalling a program, since he was trying to get rid of some Viruses..

Just follow the links I gave you. They are the official IE download links.

Edit: What I meant by delete is uninstall from the Uninstall list.

I wouldn't be surprised. Windows discontinued support with 98 in 2005 and 95 in 2001.

Thanks for the tips. I will give them all a try. I'm not sure I can get onto the links from the PC since I can't get online, but I'll take a look on my laptop and see if it can give me any information. I haven't looked in the Recycle bin yet, but anything is worth a shot.

I'll let you all know how it turns out.

CD sounds more reasonable, or a Flash Drive with the installer. A floppy disk only holds 1.44MB, which I am certain a Installer for IE7 or 8 is more...
