Hi, I hope you can help me out.
I have a Server 2003 domain that I am building from scratch. I have set up a a group policy on one of the OUs. It has a logon script with it that creates a shared drive and a message box that displays a disclaimer. I know that the GPO is running, as in it I change the title of Internet Explorer and that is happening. I believe the script is valid because I copied it to the desktop and it does what it is supposed to when I double-click it. The message that I get in the events log is.
-----------------------------------------------------
EventID: 1000
Source: UserInit
Could not execute the following script logon. The system cannot find the file specified.
.For more information, see Help and Support Center at
-----------------------------------------------------

I checked the information at this link, http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid...nit&phase=1
but didn't get very far.

The Userenv Log is shown below.

Where are you storing your scripts? They need to be in a specific directory otherwise they will not run.

Sounds like a permissioning issue on the script location. Try using the UNC path (\\fileserver\share\script.bat) to manually kick off the script and test the access.

Try moving the script to \\domaincontroller\netlogon and pointing to it in the GPO.
