What it does is (I'm not sure if it is only one, or if there are a few different ones but I'll tell you everything that happens)
1. There is a Red Circle with an "X" in it that pretends to be my windows security system and it keeps sending pop-ups that say "Warning! You have a security problem!"... obviously it is correct, but it's not gonna help me.
2. A pop-up comes up that appears to be a warning and makes that annoying noise comes up with the same picture and says "Alert" "You have a security problem! Do you want to scan your computer for viruses?" Then it gives me the options of OK or Cancel, but I close out of it. You can tell why I think they would be related though I assume.
3. In the past, when #2 came up, it also tried to open Internet Explorer to go to some fake anti-virus websites to scan my computer... I can't remember the names at the moment. I tried to fix it by looking up forums and everything, but in the end I ended up deleting internet explorer... well, i deleted everything but 4 files, I'm unable to completely uninstall it because it says another user or program may be running this program, I figure the program running it is the virus. But after I deleted all those files from Internet Explorer (which wasn't a big deal - I use FireFox) I guess it learned from it's mistakes, and now opens firefox to go to those fake anti-virus websites, but only a fraction of the time #2 pops up.

I actually uninstalled Problem #1 with Anti-Malware, but after turning the computer off and on a couple times it came back to torment me. And now none of my 3 Anti-virus programs (SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and AVG) are able to detect any viruses in the scans that I do on my computer.

When the #2 type pop-up comes up my AVG detects it,
the file it says it's in is C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/userinit.exe
the infection is Trojan horse Downloader.Agent.AVFS
and it is apparently in "whitelist" - I have no idea what that term means.
When i click on it the process name it says is C:/WINDOWS/explorer.exe
But sometimes it has a different name for example, I don't remember the exact file name, but it was in Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware as well as Mozilla FireFox.

Well, anyway, here is my DDS.txt scan
Thanks, Nathan

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine. If you have not done so, include a description of your problem, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

R,
K
The only easy day was yesterday.

Hey,
Thanks, and don't worry about it, I'm glad you guys are helping even if it isn't me (though I can't say I didn't worry about not being helped, haha)

Well thanks again :thumbup2:

Hello.

Virut infects files in such a way that they cannot be repaired. It may be possible that we cannot disinfect this machine.

Let's see how much damage was done.

Run Scan with Kaspersky
Please do a scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner.

This scan is for Internet Explorer Only.

If you are using Windows Vista, open your browser by right-clicking on its icon and select Run as administrator to perform this scan.

  • Please disable your realtime protection software before proceeding. Refer to this page if you are unsure how.
  • Open the Kaspersky Scanner page.
  • Click on Accept and install any components it needs.
  • The program will install and then begin downloading the latest definition files.
  • After the files have been downloaded on the left side of the page in the Scan section select My Computer
  • This will start the program and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while, so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete, click on View scan report
  • Now, click on the Save Report as button.
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.
You can refer to this animation by sundavis.

This scanner will only scan. It does not remove any malware it finds.

Download and Run Scan with GMER
We will use GMER to scan for rootkits.

Please download GMER.zip to your desktop from any of the links below:
LINK1, LINK2
  • Right click on GMER.zip and select "Extract All".
  • Close all other open programs as there is a slight chance your computer will crash.
  • Double click GMER.exe. Your security programs may detect GMER's driver trying to load. Allow it.
  • You may see a warning saying "GMER has detected rootkit activity". If so, select NO.
  • Leaving the settings at default, click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click Save and save the log onto your desktop.
Please include the log in your next reply.

Please also followup with a fresh DDS log.

Are the popups still occuring?

With Regards,
The Panda

Wait, so you are saying that it is possible my computer may be, for lack of a better term, screwed? lol

But, before I am able to do the steps you have asked, I have an even bigger problem than the one I have asked you to help with,
You see, after I scanned it with the DDS program thing, I turned off my AVG Antivirus, so it would scan, you know? After I replied I turned my computer off but it had a "security update" when I turned it off, and my antivirus protection was turned off.
Anyways after I slept, I got back on my computer but now the first problem to help with is:
Whenever I log onto my computer it automatically logs me off. For the time being I am using my friend's computer.

I looked it up on the internet, and I found this site:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/peboot.htm
It tells me how to fix it, however I do not have a Windows XP CD so I need a different way of fixing it, but here is the exact problem stated on the site

Incorrect registry value preventing you from logging on to your user account in Windows XP

Please Help! I love you guys here! :thumbup2:

Hello.

Please ignore the directions in my previous post for now.

Wait, so you are saying that it is possible my computer may be, for lack of a better term, screwed?

Yes, it may be.

Please boot into Safe Mode.

Are you still logged off automatically there?

With Regards,
The Panda

Yes, I am still automatically logged off in Safe Mode.

Btw, Thank you for helping, Panda :thumbup2:
(even though it's 'lol' that face still looks the happiest)

Hello.

I can't be sure that the senario pointed out in the link is the same, but it's worth a try.

The guide asks for a Bart PE disk, which we can download and burn to a disk.

Do you have a blank CD and CD burner available?
