When I "Compose" or "Forward" Yahoo mail, using Firefox 3, "Insert Addresses" doesn't work. I get the little hourglass doohickey briefly, then it flickers off and nothing happens. When in IE7, I don't have this problem.

The problem does not occur all the time, and it sometimes, but not always, clears up if I restart the computer. Signing out and back in to Yahoo mail doesn't help, nor does closing and reopening Firefox.

Perhaps check your settings in Firefox? Maybe something is prohibiting it from allowing you to enter those fields.
Who said I couldn't have everything?

Firefox may need to be reinstalled, sometimes files get corrupted.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
