Hello!

For the past few days, avast! 4 professional has been telling me that i have an AutoRun-E [Wrm] in my temp folder. I can pin point 4 files which are said to be infected. I tried to delete them from safe mode, but they keep reappearing again and again somehow. I posted about this issue in the ' Am I infected? What do I do?' forum and got lots of help, unfortunately, none of them helped me get rid of it so far.

And so, I've been asked to report my issue in this forum along with the Pseudo HJT Report.

I've tried scanning the files with mbam, super Antispyware, and Dr.Web cure it. None of the three have been able to identify the infection. Avast however detects it but does nothing apart from that.

The infected files go by the names : etilqs_hkzXAdD3dd7y68Y , etilqs_PfyhexzsuvOXQLP , etilqs_4GvZdIj51cRzUS0

All of which are said to be 0 kb in size.

Heres my dds.txt file. I've also attached the Attach.txt file.

This current thread is in relation to this thread: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/206704/how-to-get-rid-of-autorun-e-wrm/ [from which I was referred.]

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine. If you have not done so, include a description of your problem, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

R,
K
The only easy day was yesterday.

Hi

You seem to have P2P software there. Nowadays, major part of infections spreads in correspondent networks and that's why I recommend to uninstall BitComet and similar programs.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please continue as follows:
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
    Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

  • Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.
When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

C:\ComboFix.txt
New dds log.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

Hi

Please get the latest Adobe Reader as instructed in my previous post. How's the system running now?

Thank you for all your help blade81! Well My windows seems as it was. I shall wait and see if avast detects any malware in the temp folder again. If it does, I shall post back here. Also, I need to see if the sudden frequency of blue screens (which i SO forgot to mention, sorry) has disappeared or not.

But I get this when I install acrobat reader.

Hi

Did you uninstall previous version(s) first? If not, please do so. Then reboot the system and try installing new version :thumbup2:

Hi again!

For the last couple of days, I'm not able to shut down properly. My internet connection stops working suddenly and I need to restart to get it working again. And when I try to restart, nothing happens! Could this be related to anything that I was asked to do here? Or is there any solution for this?

Hi

I don't think anything in process would cause that. You didn't have these issues earlier, did you? Please post a fresh dds log with attach.txt included. I'll see if anything turns up.

If you check event viewer logs does any timestamp there match with the moment the problem occurs?

But the two files that i mentioned in the first post are still there in the temp folder. etilqs_hkzXAdD3dd7y68Y , etilqs_PfyhexzsuvOXQLP

I read somewhere that etilqs = sqlite and its something to do with firefox? I'm not able to meddle with that file. If i try to cut/copy/del or scan it with avast again, it says that the file is open and in use.
