What is really bothering me is that when I am explaining something that has a list

a) option a, or step a...

:thumbsup: option b, or step b...

c) option c, or step c...

, then option b comes out as :flowers: instead of ":trumpet:". I understand that ":inlove:" is the shortcut for the smiley, but it also replaces genuine ":cool:"s.

When you respond to a post, use Reply not Fast Reply. Note at the lower right of the text box the is a tab labeled BB code help
Click on that tab and scroll down and it will show you the code you need to do what you want

You mean that I could use the list=a command? This will make it "a.", while I would prefer "a)". Ok, it is extra work, but that seems to be the only work around. :thumbsup:

If you use FastReply, un-check Enable Smilies, above the More Options button, and you posts will come out as intended, but you won't be able to use smilies.

Normally, these would generate smilies, but with Enable Smilies un-checked, they don't:
