This is my first post, so pls xcuse any errors. When trying to print to HPDeskjet3847 from Msft Works, using XP, I get err msg "No default printer selected;use Windows control panel to specify your printer". My printer prints well from other apps, and it shows status of "ready" on control panel. There appears to be no way to "specify" the printer. I've tried various other approaches using HP Help, but no results. Any ideas would be helpful!

Thanks, Desertman2

Try uninstalling and re-installing Microsoft works. You can also use Open Office which will allow you to print your work for now until we can get your Ms works working properly.

Try this fix
Go into
Printer and Faxes found in the Control Panel

Right-click on the printer's name.

Select 'Properties'.

Select the 'Advanced' tab

Select 'Print directly to printer'.

See if that works.
