Hi there. Found 360 on my desktop tonight and ordered MalwareBot + Registry + Active Protection. Then downloaded HJT.

I've also been running Avira AntiVir Personal edition but that didn't seem to catch this.

I've quaranteened all files from the MalwareBot scan, but still have browser hijacking going on.

My HJT log:

Hello bknobloch,

Posted Image

I'm afraid that not only did you get taken, but you got taken. :) MalwareBot is a rogue that uses false positives to goad you into a purchase. :thumbup2: If you paid money for this, then you lost it because they will not give you a refund.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from one of these places:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Ant...ware_d5756.html
http://www.besttechie.net/mbam/mbam-setup.exe

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
* The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
* Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Thanks,
tea
Please make a donation so I can keep helping people just like you.
Every little bit helps! :)
You can even use your credit card! Thank you!

Hi there,

No need to apologize. Just from now on I need for you to leave the current reports in place and use the Add Reply button to add your new replies. :thumbup2:

Did you set the 024 yourself? O24 - Desktop Component 0: (no name) - http://www.breeders-showcase.net/images/index.1.jpg

If not, please do the following:

Go to start -> control panel -> Display properties -> Desktop -> Customize Desktop... -> Web tab, then uncheck and delete everything you find in there (except for "My current home page"),

Also remove the checkmark from the the Lock Desktop Items box if it is checked.
Apply.
Apply and Exit Display properties.

Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MalwareBot] C:\Program Files\MalwareBot\MalwareBot.exe -boot
O24 - Desktop Component 0: (no name) - http://www.breeders-showcase.net/images/index.1.jpg

Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix checked".

Navigate to and delete the following folder(s) (if they exist):

C:\Program Files\MalwareBot

Reboot your computer.

How is it running now please? :)

Thanks,
tea
