Ok, I'm not real savvy on fixing computers, but I'm sure someone can help out there...I can't connect to internet and everytime I try anything I keep getting the "windows preparing to install" and then nothing happens??? ANy ideas? I cleaned up some programs and this has happened since then...the only program I removed was a photoshop...so I'm here waiting on a brain........

Thanks,

Exact error message?

System manufacturer and model?

Exact program removed? Did you remove it properly, using Add/Remove Programs?

Have you attempted to install something unsuccessfully?

Compaq Presario 4410us
Intel® Celeron

Some of my programs will pull up, but most of them and when I try to connnect, a window that says windows installer pops up and say preparing to install...then nothing happens??? I removed a Photo studio program..and thats all, and yes, I used the add/remove program to do this....

Thanks .

I would try Windows Installer Utility - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;290301

I would also assure myself (after using the above) that I have the latest version of the Windows Installer on my system.

Windows Installer 4.5 is available - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942288
