Hello everyone,

For awhile now I have been having issues with my computer, mainly with my internet. I'd close a window and then be spammed by new windows until I shut the computer down, or I'd try to load a webpage and it would redirect me to a google image search. The spamming stopped eventually though the annoying image searches & random popups continued. Lately I've been getting a ton of porn site popups and my already loaded pages will reload themselves into something else (also usually porn related). It's all been somewhat tolerable until a few days ago when I tried opening a program (Second Life) and it refused to load for me. I thought it was being stubborn so I left it alone until the next day and when I tried opening it then, my computer flashed me the "blue screen of death" and restarted. Since that happened everything has gone downhill. I tried doing some virus research but anything related refuses to load. Downloads will not work anymore as they just disappear off of my desktop like someone is deleting them as soon as they are done and antispyware software that I already have will cause the "blue screen of death" or not open for me at all. I've heard from some friends that there are viruses out there that will prevent you from finding anything that could help destroy them and I'm thinking that that's what I got ahold of. I considered having my computer wiped but my ex boyfriend took my recovery and system disks with him when he left (he has the same computer as me) and I don't want to risk messing my computer up worse. I'm at a loss here without being able to download anything to fight back, can anyone offer me some advice or even an educated guess about what is happening?
