I received my 1.5Terabyte drives yesterday, and thought I would install them today. I installed one and I am getting the following error code upon installation of Windows Vista Ultimate, and that is: Windows Setup Error: 0x80070057. Windows Vista Ultimate then fails to format the drive and goes back to the main screen to select Install Now, then select regional information, and input of cd key. What is the issue?

I currently have it formatting in my current Windows Vista install.

It is firmware CC1G.

Just talked with Seagate support, and this model of drive ST31500341AS has no issues.

Appears to be a common error associated with 64-bit Vista and Windows Update, but not necessarily restricted to Windows Update, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=W...mp;aq=f&oq=

I see no resolution of any of these issues in the webpages I looked at.

Its a puzzling issue, I hope it will install now that I am formatting the drive.

I had to prepare the drive to boot, and make it primary. To do this I had to create a bootable CD with the SeaTools on it. It is weird that I received a windows update error code. Oh well, I hope this thread provides help to those who have issues.

Its a forum, and I hate threads where people solve an issue and not leave how they solved their issue.
