NO audio

i have an ACER Aspire 4710 laptop . I stopped getting sound output yesterday . i have reinstalled the drivers . it doesn't seem to work . what can i do ?. i have no sound what so ever .

have you tryed putting a headset into a headset jack?

First thing i check is to see if windows is muted or has the sound volume down low (you have to check volume and wav settings)
Then i check the volume of the physical device and whether its still plugged in and turned on.
Then i check to see if the device is installed correctly. (click start then run, type
then click OK and see if any device are flagged by a yellow or red mark.
