Hi Guys!
I wonder if you can help me? A few days ago I started having trouble getting online and downloading emails. I'm using a desktop with a wireless connection (through a Wireless G network desktop card from belkin). I have been in touch with my ISP (who sent out a new modem), but this didn't solve the problem. I have also been on the Netgear (they made the wireless router that we have) and Belkin helplines. They all say that everything is working correctly from their point of veiw as I can still ping websites from my desktop and having my laptop connected to the router via an ethernet cable works OK. So, they say, the problem must be with my computer - that a program is blocking me from using the internet. When I try to open web pages, I eventually get a message saying that the connection was interupted or sometimes that the operation timed out.
In searching for a solution to the problem I came across a topic on another website where the guy seemed to be experiencing the same problem. He mentioned that ComboFix sorted it out for him. So, not knowing what ComboFix was I searched for it and that brought me to bleeping computer (Which sums up how I feel perfectly!). Do you think ComboFix might be the answer to my problem and if so, please could you help me?
Also, a few days after the internet trouble started I also started getting an error message when opening Outlook - asking for the "Microsoft Office XP Professional with Front Page" CD to be inserted - this has never happened before. Could it be related?
I am running Windows XP Proffessional, Version 2002, Service pack 3.
Thanks very much in advance for your help.
I will look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Neil.
