My World of Warcraft account was compromised, and I had not given out any of my account information, nor have I ever played on a different computer than this one. I had trouble trying to reboot in safe mode. Tapping both F5 and F8 did nothing during system boot. Not sure what might have caused this though. I'm using a G15 Logitech keyboard. Not sure if that would help.

I have run Ad-Aware and Spybot trying to find it, but I have not been successful.

I have attached the attach.txt file, and any help / pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a hijackthis report if that is needed.

Thank you for your time.

hi thekovinc,

your log is several days old. Still need help? you can do this:

we will use hjt first:

start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked"

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Firewall] C:\Windows\mscaaa.exe

next to help show all files do this;

FOr XP: on the desktop double click my computer,go to tools>folder options>view> then select "show hidden files and folders", then UNcheck "hide protected operating system files " also UNcheck "hide extensions for known file types" click apply to all folders, apply then ok

last: navigate to the C:/windows directory look for and delete if present:

next; do a online scan here:

ESET online scanner:

uses Internet Explorer only
check "YES" to accept terms
click start button
allow the ActiveX component to install
click the start button. the Scanner will update.
check both "Remove found threats" and "Scan unwanted applications"
click scan
when done you can find the scan log at:C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
please copy/paste that log in next reply.

reboot computer, rescan and post a new hjt log

I dont see a Antivirus app in the log. Do you have one?

How Can I Reduce My Risk to Malware?
