Posted 23 February 2009 - 12:30 AM

I recently was infected with the go-google redirect virus. I used mbam to remove the virus. The redirects stopped, but now my web browsers are not working correctly. Firefox is my preferred and primary browser and it often refuses to load web pages, either displaying "server not found" or "unable to load". Sometimes it takes up to six reloads to load a page. IE doesn't have the exact same problem. With it, I have to manually load individual pictures on pages by a right click and show pictures. I'm afraid that I must still have some traces of the virus or that something was changed from it. Maybe unrelated?

Here is the DDS log.

I hope that I have followed the instructions correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
