Yesterday when I tried to start my computer, it had to update itself so I restart it. And then it went to the blue screen so I did launched the start up repair. After that, I am guessing it was not successful as it kept restarting itself. Now when I turn the laptop on, it starts up but not successfully. I can go to the home screen; just not anything else. I cannot open any programs other than system repair and restore. I can also open up control panel but if I tried to run Firefox or AIM, I was out of luck. Any help? I am using Windows Vista Home Premium with 64-bit OS. My laptop is a Dell Studio 1535. Thank you in advance.

Hi there!

Try the start up repair again. It is normal for the computer to do a series of restarts while fixing start up.

Also, try to do a system restore. If the system restore is not working, then do a Last Known System Configuration Restore.

Can you boot into Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key just before the Windows splash screen shows up?
