Hi,

Please do not attach the logs, but copy and paste them in the thread instead.

I understand that you need help in order to get rid of the malware that is present on your system - But you need to help us first..
I notice that you never scanned with an Antivirus previously before starting this thread - because you don't even have an Antivirus installed!
This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world.
That's why I want you to install one first!!

* Please install Avira Antivirus: http://www.free-av.com/
This is a free Antivirus.

Perform a full scan with Avira and let it delete everything it is finding.
Then reboot.
After reboot, open your Avira and select "reports".
There doubleclick the report from the Full scan you have done. Click the "Report File" button and copy and paste this report in your next reply together with a new HijackThislog.
Then we'll start from there, because it really makes no sense otherwise that we clean this up manually if an Antivirusscan is not present which should be able to deal with most and prevent further reinfection.

Thank you for your help, I am doing this remotely for a friend. Every website I try to get to, FF and IE are redirecting me to different websites, I can go to some sites, but it absolutely wont let me go to Download.com, Softpedia, or any site for getting a AV. Do you have any suggestions for getting around the virus to get to download things?

I see you're using LogmeIn, can't you download it and transfer it via LogmeIn? Because if I'm not mistaken, the logmein pro version should have that option.
Or you can also download the installer for the Antivirus and send it via IM to that person.
By the way, trying to solve this via remote can cause extra problems and disconnect while using certain removal tools, so that's why it may be a good idea to give the link from this thread to your friend as well.

Ok I was able to find one of the processes that was redirecting me and I killed, so I was able to DL Avira and it is scanning. I will report back when I get those two logs.

I really wish I could get my friend to do this himself but opening IE is a task for him. So I guess I will try to get as far as I can then just tell him to go to a store if it doesnt work.

Thanks again.

Hi,

No need to go to a store if it doesn't work. We should be able to fix this. It all depends how much damage the malware already caused.
Keep in mind that running Avira won't solve all the problems yet and more tools will be needed afterwards. But Avira should already be able to deal with most.

Hi,

We're not finished yet. We have still a lot to delete.
What a mess by the way. I'm surprised that this computer is still able to boot..

* Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Post the log from ComboFix in your next reply.

Please make sure you disable ALL of your Antivirus/Antispyware/Firewall before running ComboFix..This because Security Software may see some components ComboFix uses (prep.com for example) as suspicious and blocks the tool, or even deletes it. Please visit HERE if you don't know how.

Hi,

* Open notepad - don't use any other texteditor than notepad or the script will fail.
Copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into notepad:

File::
c:\windows\oqokururulip.dll
c:\windows\Utofok.dll
c:\windows\system32\edifetus.ini
c:\windows\system32\nfr.gpref
c:\windows\system32\nfr.assembly
c:\windows\system32\stu2.exe
c:\windows\system32\ajizejop.ini
Folder::
C:\VundoFix Backups
DDS::
uInternet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.local;<local>
uInternet Settings,ProxyServer = http=localhost:7070
Firefox::
FF - ProfilePath - c:\documents and settings\Chris Sherrill\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\642l0viy.default\
FF - prefs.js: network.proxy.http - localhost
FF - prefs.js: network.proxy.http_port - 7070
FF - prefs.js: network.proxy.type - 4
Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Nhojipejoxiredo"=-
"Ikabovito"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run-]
"vihiradovi"=-
"CPM2b9850d2"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\security center]
"UpdatesDisableNotify"=dword:00000000
[HKLM\~\services\sharedaccess\parameters\firewallpolicy\standardprofile\GloballyOpenPorts\List]
"80:TCP"=-
"7070:TCP"=-

Save this as txtfile CFScript

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

Posted Image

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply.

Extra note..
In case you lost internet access after performing above instructions:

In IE: Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab ->Lan Settings > uncheck "use a proxy server" or reconfigure the Proxy server again in case you have set it previously.
In Firefox in Tools Menu -> Options... -> Advanced Tab -> Network Tab -> "Settings" under Connection.

Hi,

This looks OK again.

* Go to start > run and copy and paste next command in the field:

ComboFix /u

Make sure there's a space between Combofix and /
Then hit enter.

This will uninstall Combofix, delete its related folders and files, reset your clock settings, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and resets System Restore again.

Let me know in your next reply how things are now.

K I uninstalled ComboFix, I ran HJT just to see what it found, and it seems that all the nasty stuff that was there before is gone now. Avira is active and seems to be doing the job. I havent seen anymore pop-ups. I will have to let my friend go about his business and see what happens.

Thank You so much.

On a different note, in the past I tried to get into the Malware Removal Course, and everything was full, is there anything you would suggest for getting into it, I would love to have the knowledge but also to be able to give help to others like you do.

Thanks again.

Hi,

You can still try to apply here, but at the moment it's indeed full.
Or you can join SWI for training: http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/index.php?showtopic=34
That's where I was trained as well (but that was a while ago)
After all, most of the security forums have the same helpers anyway. :thumbup2:

Glad I could help. :)

Please read my Prevention page with lots of info and tips how to prevent this in the future.
And if you want to improve speed/system performance after malware removal, take a look here.
Extra note: Make sure your programs are up to date - because older versions may contain Security Leaks. To find out what programs need to be updated, please run the Secunia Software Inspector Scan.

Happy Surfing again!
