1TB ex hard drive freezes my pc?

i have an exturnal hard drive and if i turn it on during boot (on xp) then my computer crashes, it only works if turned on after boot, i can only gess its because it trys to boot from it instead of my C drive

If that's the case, then you'll have to disable booting from USB devices in your system's BIOS.
Include the exact make and model of your system in your next post and we can help you reset it.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Well its a mix of alot of different coponents, my uncle built it but i think theese are my specs:

Manufacturer: GBT___

Processor: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.5GHz

Memory: 2048MB RAM

Hard Drive: 80 GB

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS

Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor

Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio output

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236)
