Hi there,

My cousin's PC has started complaining of buffer overruns at startup. There's also no printer icon in the printers/faxes folder in Control Panel

I found a KB article on MS Support website with similar symptoms which suggested a corrupt Spoolsv.exe file and recommended renaming the old file and re-installing it from the XP CD ROM which we don't have, he only has the standard CD's provided by Dell, which I don't believe are any use at all.

I tried it anyway and it didn't work....

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Many thanks
