Hello,

I am very worried and upset to have found my new laptop infected. I went through your malware page and I am still not sure what to do....

I am running Vista on my computer.

IE windows pop up for many sites including godirectshowroom.biz and other spamming sites? Also, after I closed out the IE windows and about five minutes later, I see advertisements without being on a webpage. Also I cant see any pictures or icons on any websites anymore...! Firefox is not effected like this, its only IE.

My antivirus program is McAfee and the first te it found 2 objects, I removed them and then it found O.

I also downloaded Ad-Aware Free and ran that and found the following:

Quantity 4
TAI 10

Process
c:\users\jessica\appda\temp\z8v4w1p0yb6uexe

Process
c:\users\jessica\appdata\temp\lkjits4.exe

Registry Entry
HKU.S-1-5-21-406976116\.\Display Inline Images

Registry Entry
HKU.S-1-5-21-406976116\.\Display Inline Videos

(tried to delete 4 times but they wont go away)

I would very very much appreciate any help or advice. Thank You so much.

Make sure you do the reboot, then run this and run another quick scan with MBAM

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
  • If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Note: On Vista, "Windows Temp" is disabled. To empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator".
