I purchased this new HP Pavilion DVD6500 Notebook PC. It has Intel COre 2 Duo CPU, T5250, 150 GHz, 4.00 GM Ram, 64 bit about 6 months ago. Right from the start I noticed it is very slow to actually start. I have used a watch, and from the moment I click the power button to the moment I get to start using a program (any one) it takes most times up to 2 minutes. This one is getting all the actualizations available from both Microsoft and HP. The old desktop I use on XP takes most times 30 seconds to do so. What is going wrong? Is there anything I can do? It has no viruses, no worms, nothing. I have all actualized programs like: AVG, SuperAntiSpyware, etc. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. MB

It could depend on many things. How many programmes you have running at start up would be best bet.You can get a programme like Winpatrol to delay some start up items or you could actualy reduce the number of start up programmes as not all are essential.
