Hey there everyone. I've been doing what I can to help in the fight against spyware / malware for many years now. I have some experience in using many of the go-to apps out there for cleaning / scanning, including HJT, CCleaner, Ad-Aware, SpyBot S&D, and many others. I spend quite a bit of time tweaking and maintaining my home network, as well as remotely managing several computers of friends and family. I am formerly a member of the recently deceased Castle Cops forum, which was an invaluable tool in the ongoing fight against malware. I have some experience in wireless networking, but am by no means an expert.
I joined this forum because of a friend's encounter with a nasty piece of malware known as "Win32.Backdoor.TDSS", which I was able to resolve (hopefully) with assistance from this site. I was hoping to obtain this forum's training as a HJT Team member, but since they are not presently accepting new students, I will have to wait patiently until a spot opens up before I can start helping others. I have set my email preferences to receive email only from moderators until I am officially given the go-ahead (hopefully not too far in the future) to assist others as part of the team.
To the mods: The site looks great and the advice appears to be very sound and well-reasoned. You should be proud of your efforts made here. Looking forward to working with you all.
Regards.
