I just made a favicon for my web site at http://bestnetguru.com/. It is showing fine in Mozilla Firefox browser, but NOT showing in Internet Explorer 7.0. Can somebody tell me what is wrong? I looked up in the Internet for possible problems and solutions, but apparently nothing is working. Can anybody out there see my favicon in their IE browser? I can see the favicon itself when I use http://bestnetguru.com/favicon.ico in the browser's address field. I have deleted the site from the old Favorites list, then made it Favorite again, still nothing is happening. Re-uploaded the HTML document, cleared browser cache, re-started my computer ... still the favicon is NOT showing in IE. It is driving me crazy. Now I realise why people say Firefox is a better browser!!

Somebody please help. Thanks.

Yes i can see the favicon OK. What i have found with using IE is it stores the page in temporary internet files. If you were to clear the temp files it should work for you. But be assured, it worked for me!

Thanks again, KamakaZ. I am glad you can see my favicon with IE. I still cannot see it in my home computer after clearing cache and all that. I could not see it in my office computer either (IE). Can anybody else see my favicon with IE? Please go here:

I've tried it on my home computers with IE 6 & 7, ophra and Firefox, all which show it OK and 3 computers at work, which also showed OK.

Thank you again, KamakaZ. I am relieved. But why can I not see it in my own computer at home with IE? I get all updates from Microsoft automatically. I also do regular maintenance of my computer, like clearing browser cache etc. Well, I guess some things always will remain unexplained (like sighting ghosts).

Anyway, thanks again for your help.

I can see it too using IE. Two S's - one red and one blue.

Thanks, Lloyd T. It is certainly reassuring. I had personally asked three friends living in Australia, England, and India if they could see my favicon. They all replied affirmatively by e-mail. So I guess my experiment is successful (even though I still cannot see it in my own computer with IE 7.0), and we can now close this thread.

Thank you all for helping me.
