Hello, my computer is having a problem as of late that i cant seem to fix. I can usually take pretty good care of it, keep it clean of worms, trojans, viruses, etc. But as of late, this problem has been affecting my gameplay or movie viewing, and even typing sessions. When im playing a game, i could be in the middle of something and the game will just minimize for no reason. It does this all the time. When i am typing like i am currently typing, the program i have running (aol), will turn into a background program ass if something else has popped up in front of it, but nothing has. What is this? Here is my log:

Hi Uraiser and Welcome!

Lets take care of the DNS Protocol Hijack First!!!(The 017s with the bleep IP addy)

Download Ewido Security Suite, install then from within the program check for updates BUT dont scan yet
Ewido Security Suite:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu". When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK.
We will fix this in a moment.

From the main Ewido screen, Click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start Update button.

After the Update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), Now close the program.

If you have problems updating see here
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/

If you run into any errors while running this, please let me know ASAP!!

Please Dwomload remv3.zip from

Here

Please be sure remv3 is Unzipped into its own folder, otherwise it will not work!

Reboot into SAFE MODE(Tap F8 when restarting)
Here is a link on how to boot into Safe Mode:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...src=sec_doc_nam

After restarting in Safe Mode,Configure Windows to Show All Hidden Files and Folders, this must be done after restarting in Safe Mode!!

Here is a link to help with that
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...showtutorial=62

Locate remv3 and Double Click remv3.bat>>Wait for the DOS window to close!

It will create a log located at C:\log.txt,I will need to see that log in the next post!

Enter your control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections.

Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties.

Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically

Make sure the radio dial has the Green Dot in it!!

Open HijackThis and put a check by these but DO NOT hit the Fix Checked button yet!

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{CB47283B-11CC-44DC-8DA8-9FF234776E78}: NameServer = 69.50.176.156,195.225.176.31

Now Make sure ALL WINDOWS and BROWSERS are CLOSED and hit the Fix Checked Button!!

Click Start, and then click Search.
Click All files and folders.
In the "All or part of the file name" box, type:

rasphone.pbk

Verify that "Look in" is set to "Local Hard Drives" or to (C:).
Click "More advanced options."
Check "Search system folders."
Check "Search subfolders."
Click Search.
Click Find Now or Search Now.

If you find rasphone.pbk file, right-click the file, and then click "Open With."
Deselect the "Always use this program to open this program" check box.
Scroll through the list of programs and double-click Notepad.
When the file opens, delete the entries below:

IpDnsAddress = 69.50.176.156
IpDns2Address = 195.225.176.31
IpNameAssign = 2

Close Notepad and be sure to Save your changes when prompted!!!

Now Click Start>>Run>>Type in CMD and Click OK!

At the Dos Prompt Screen, type in cd\ and hit enter!

Now type in ipconfig/flushdns and click enter>>Once it is done, close command prompt!

Now Scan the PC with Ewido,Allow it to clean all it finds and be sure to Save the log it generates!

Restart and Post a fresh HijackThis log along with the logs from Ewido and Remv3!

The 017 you pointed to is for AOL!

I need to see the log from Remv3 located at C:\log.txt

I think you are gonna be able to get it all clean now that the DNS Hijack is gone!

Please temporily disable TeaTimer in Spybot S&D as it may prevent part of this fix:
Open Spybot and click on Mode, check Advanced Mode:
Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner:
Click on Resident. Uncheck Resident "TeaTimer" box.
Close Spybot. Reboot your computer.

SafeGuard is going to have to be removed, this is probably the Cause of the PopUps!

The google toolbar has an excellent PopUp stopper if you need to replace it!

I dont need to tell you my thoughts on Warez or P2P Programs, thats not what we are here for!!!

The Version of Warez you are running will definatly promote Crapware to your PC!

Here is a link I think you will find most interesting
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/

I highly recommend removing it ASAP!

Go to Add\Remove Programs and Remove

SafeGuard Protect PCShield

SafeGuard Pop-up Blocker Pro

SP2 Connection Patcher<<< Just see if that one exist!!!

Reboot into SAFE MODE(Tap F8 when restarting)
Here is a link on how to boot into Safe Mode:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...src=sec_doc_nam

After restarting in Safe Mode,Configure Windows to Show All Hidden Files and Folders, this must be done after restarting in Safe Mode!!

Here is a link to help with that
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...showtutorial=62

Be sure to follow the directions that apply to your Operating System!

Locate and Delete

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfg.dll<< File!

C:\Program Files\SafeGuard Pop-up Blocker Pro FREE Edition<< Folder!

C:\Program Files\SP2 Connection Patcher<< Folder!

Open HijackThis and put a check by these but DO NOT hit the Fix Checked button yet!

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Spywareblaster is working

O2 - BHO: SafeGuard Protect PCShield - {564FFB73-9EEF-4969-92FA-5FC4A92E2C2A} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfg.dll

O2 - BHO: Popup Blocker Pro - {A44B961C-8C36-470f-8555-EDA0EFC1E710} - C:\Program Files\SafeGuard Pop-up Blocker Pro FREE Edition\popupblocker.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PCShield] regsvr32 /s "C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfg.dll"

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [warez] "C:\Program Files\Warez P2P Client\warez.exe" -h

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SP2 Connection Patcher] "C:\Program Files\SP2 Connection Patcher\SP2ConnPatcher.exe" -n=200

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [PCShield] regsvr32 /s "C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfg.dll"

Now Make sure ALL WINDOWS and BROWSERS are CLOSED and hit the Fix Checked Button!!

Restart and Scan the PC at Panda and Save the Report it generates!

Post the Remv3 log>>Panda Report and a fresh HijackThis log!

Thanks for the advice thus far. Here is the panda results scan. It says I have the eXact toolbar, but i cant seem to find it anywhere that it would be to my knowledge. I researched it and it said to manually uninstall it from add remove prgrams, but its not there, what do you think i should do?

Do you know what that other entry Panda found is??

The eXact Resgistry entries are just that....dead Registry Entries!

Were you able to delete the Items I listed??

Lets see a Fresh HijackThis log!
