i'm having trouble sending email. I can revieve but can't send. I have this problem every time I come home from school. I was using outlook 2003 and tried using Mozilla Thunderbird but the same thing happens. If i try to send Outlook says the message is undeliverable and Mozilla just keeps asking for my smtp password. Whats the deal?...

what e-mail service are you using?, (not client), it seems to be a problem with your stmp configuration. Recheck to make sure its set correctly.

Your school may block outside use. If you have an account from your ISP, or a GMail account, your client should work for those. If not, post back.

What is the ISP being used at home? ie. SBC DSL, Cox cable, etc.

I had this problem with an email account I use at work on a laptop. At work we are hooked up with SBC DSL and in order to make email work correctly I had to provide the Outlook configuration with the correct SMTP info. But at home I was forced to create a different Outlook profile which incorporates my home Cox.net internet service. This was a simple one-time fix and all mail sent and received, either at home or office, is stored in a single PST file; all I need to do is choose "home" or "office" location when I launch Outlook.

You've probably configured Outlook just fine for use at school. Do a little investigation into what your home ISP and SMTP server settings are and you should be good to go.
