I keep getting a message that reads: "you are running low on disc space on local disk c. to free up space on this drive by deleting old or unneccessary files click here." The message comes up on the botton bar and has the drive c icon. When I click on it, it brings me to scan disk which I have run numerous times over the last few weeks and continue to get this message. I have uninstalled a bunch of stuff that is never used and still have this problem. I need a solution. Thank you Kevin C.

Hi kevcinma,
How much disk space do you have left on your C drive? and do you have any other drives available?
  • Start
  • Right click My Computer
  • Manage
  • Disk Drives
This will list your drives and partitions

-or-
  • Start
  • My Computer
  • Right click C drive
  • Properties
This will show you available disc space on C

thanks,

Tiny little C drive (25gb) and only 46mb available.....no wonder your getting a warning. 25gb is small. Are you sure that there is not another available partition on the hard drive. You will find the info in the disc manager I outlined above. If not then do you have another hard drive available? If not do you have an external drive?

See if there are any programs you don't use or want and remove them. See here
