Yesterday night as I was walking home, there was a torrential downpour and my backpack was soaked. My laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook S2020, XP SP3) was inside, and though mostly protected, when I opened the screen, there were a few drops of water inside. It all seemed to be around the edges of the screen, (none on the keyboard that I could see), so I figured I was safe. I had connected to the internet (though I don't think I was accessing any malicious sites) when the computer began to type alternating characters bbbbbbbbbb'''''''''''bbbbbb'''1''''' whenever i clicked on any text space. Next, notepad began to reopen continuously. It opened about 23 windows before I hit the power button. I left the powered down laptop over the heating vent overnight. This morning, when I tried to log on, the keyboard isn't working properly; 'h', 'u', and a few other letters just don't work, a couple of others do double letters. I can't log on to the admin account because it's password protected and I can't type the password; however I can log onto a guest account. There's none of the haywire notepad activity from last night, nor are letters typing themselves onto the screen, but the keyboard still isn't typing what I want it to. Does the computer have a virus, or did I short something in the CPU when it got wet? What should I do?

Since you didn't have this problem before the rain storm, it's likely that the rain did cause the problem.
Try plugging in a USB keyboard and seeing if that works any better.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
